Minutes of the HCC  meeting held at GNRT – Monday 12th AUGUST 2013      Action in RED

1. Haringey Cycling and Walking Study, HCC comments on Draft Report

MP tabled latest draft.  It was agreed Wightman Rd should be a priority for action.  GG saidwww.cyclestreets.net  has comments on danger spots etc.   MP will welcome the Report and make suggestions for:-  Tottenham Lane Cycle lane; removal of gyratory E of Duckett’s Common and continuing cycle lane up to Turnpike lane; removal of brick centre division at Wightman Rd/ Turnpike La junction. Lack of Report proposals to tackle junction safety issues will also be noted.   MP

 

 

2. Removal of Barriers- Locations

BS will email MP photos of more barriers at paths leading to Lea Valley.    BS

 

3. Green Lanes Scheme

The analysis of final consultation responses included pro and con comments on 2-way cycling for the ladder.

 

 

4. Access  to Sainsbury’s

Haringey Online has reports of 2hr+ queues for cars to leave the Green lanes store.  It was agreed HCC should suggest LBH and Sainsbury’s consider increasing walking and cycle access at Green Lanes and the planned Hornsey store.  BS said there is also a large store planned for Tottenham.

 

 

5. St Anne’s Roundabout

LBH  confirm two local schools have considerable numbers of children cycling to school, so the schools  should be consulted on the proposed N cycle entry.   AC said he expects very few children would cycle on  St Anne’s Rd.

 

 

7. Items for Borough Insert next London Cyclist (deadline Monday 27th August, 10am)

MP will do draft on the HCC ride to London Freecycle, wheel ramps planned at Hornsey Station, the barrier at Cross Lane and the Cycling and walking Study.      MP

 

 

8. September 2nd LCC ‘safe for cycling’ Ride, central London  (? Local groups organizing short feeder rides)

PF will lead a feeder ride, meeting 5.15 at Fisbury Park Manor House gate.  The main ride starts from Jubilee Gardens at 6.30.      PF

10. AOB

It was agreed HCC will have a stall at the Lordship Rec Fair, 14th September 12.00- 4.00pm.

MP will email Tony Kennedy about the planting and sponsors signs obstructing the view at the approach to the Tottenham Lane zebra crossing at the turning from Hornsey High Street.     MP
